Kids Say the Darndest Things

Savannah spent some time with us last week. This is one of the conversations we had.

Savannah (singing): One manaza. One manaza. Do you know that song?
Aunt Dee Dee (that's me for those of you who don't know): What song? The one your singing?
S: Yeah. One manaza. Two manaza. Three manaza.
DD (after much contemplation): Oh! You mean the one by Britney Spears?
S: Yeah!
DD: What are the words you're singing?
S: One manaza.
DD (now laughing): What's a "manaza"?
S: I don't know.

I'm just glad she didn't know the real words to a song called Womanizer.
I was changing Marshall's diaper the other day and he said to me, "I drop a steamer."

He gets that from his dad.
We were out to breakfast with Savannah and she was playing with the coffee creamers by stacking them on top of each other. Then she said to Jesse and me, "Look! It's the Artful Tower."

It was too funny so we didn't bother correcting her.
While camping we were sitting around the campfire with my niece, Bailey. I was talking about how I recently found some old papers I wrote back in Junior High. One paper talked about what I imagined my spouse to be like and the different characteristics he would have. Bailey so perceptively asked, "Did you write down a guy that drinks a lot of beer?"

I guess I left that one out.
Send me your comments and share some of the funny things the kids in your life have said.

Christa I really needed that.....LOL! Oh the things you have to look forward too!!!

Wait until you are walking in the grocery store and one of your kids yells out "mom you farted!" Which was absolutely a lie. I was so embarrassed, And then the little devil child kept saying it. Needless to say I just got out of the store as quick as I could.

The other day elyssa told me I should not wear brown that It doesn't look good on me. "Mom you look like a coffee a good way" the next time I wore that shirt she says "come on coffee bean suit" nice. Most of the wise cracks around here come from her. She always has us laughing.

Here is a funny one!
I was at my brother-in-law's and his wife's cousin (did you get that? lol)was there. I was trying to talk to him and he wasn't saying anything! So his mom says "Junior, Shawni is talking to you..." And he says "Well my ears DON'T talk!" was so funny!

My little guy doesn't say much yet...but he does a lot of cute things. Like, grunting when he reaches for something when cleaning (I guess I must do that), smelling Christmas lights, putting his hands over his eyes so you can't see him:) and proping his leg up on the table while kickn back and relaxing watching tv.

I can't wait until he says cute things!

Too funny! I can't wait till we have a lil' one we can laugh with about funny things they say! As of right now we laugh at our dogs however we talk for them too, so I guess that just means we think we are pretty funny! Ha ha!

I have 2 things to post that were funny--

1- Savannah had a friend sleep over a couple weeks ago and i just remembered to post this.. Richard was complaining about stomach cramps that night and she turned to him and said, my mom gets cramps! He said, probably not the same ones I'm experiencing. :)

2- This is a conversation Savannah and I had yesterday about Dolly Parton after we saw her in an episode of Hannah Montana...

Jill: Whoah, her boobs are huge.
Savannah: I know, and they're even real.
Jill: No they're not.
(at this point savannah looked at me strange, like they're not?)
Savannah: How can you have boobs that aren't real? they're plastic aren't they.
Jill: How do you get plastic boobs?
Savannah: I don't know; but my friend at school says her aunt has plastic boobs, but I don't believe her.

My daughter is still innocent and naive and I"m just fine with that! :)
